The following is the maximum amount of income a family may receive and be eligible for energy assistance under ProjectCARE Program.

NOTE: Chart is based on 150% of the Federal Poverty Income guidelines. For each additional member, add $540.


  1. Regular Heating and Cooling Assistance: No household may be assisted more than once for Regular Heating and once for Cooling Assistance with ProjectCARE funds. 

The  Regular Heating/Cooling Assistance Program is designed to provide  general heating/cooling assistance to any eligible household.

  1. Crisis Assistance (Heating and Cooling): Crisis assistance may only be provided to households that meet the income guidelines and that meet the definition of an energy-related crisis.  

***No household may be assisted more than once for Crisis heating and once for Crisis Cooling Assistance.  In addition to the eligibility requirements, a household must have an energy-related crisis before crisis assistance can be authorized.
